Hoag Hospital’s Advanced Endoscopy Center provides sophisticated care to individuals with digestive system disorders. As one of the few community hospitals in the nation to provide Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Hoag Hospital is at the forefront of this rapidly evolving technology.

The center’s services are performed at Hoag’s state-of-the-art GI lab within the Sue and Bill Gross Women’s Pavilion. The medical director of Hoag Advanced Endoscopy Center, Phuong T. Nguyen, M.D., is a nationally recognized expert in gastroenterology and EUS. Dr. Nguyen is one of Orange County’s most experienced physicians utilizing minimally invasive endoscopic procedures. She also has expertise with gastrointestinal (GI) motility and pelvic floor disorders.

About Hoag GI Lab

The Hoag GI Lab is a state-of-the-art center that offers a variety of technologically advanced equipment and highly trained staff and physicians. All physicians are board-certified in gastroenterology and many Hoag GI Lab staff are members of the Society of Gastroenterology Nursing and Associates and have specialty certification.

GI services include routine screening studies as well as specialty therapeutic procedures. The Hoag GI Lab, located on the second floor of the Sue and Bill Gross Women’s Pavilion at Hoag Hospital, has six state-of-the-art procedure rooms and performs over 12,000 procedures annually.

Procedures are available for disorders including: gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett’s esophagus, esophageal cancer, fecal incontinence and colon cancer.
