Hoag Hospital Irvine: Renovations Underway

Renovations at Hoag Hospital Irvine are underway and the new facility is on schedule to open in late 2010. When the new hospital opens, Hoag Hospital Irvine will provide a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient services, including a fully staffed emergency room. Located on Sand Canyon and Alton Parkway, just off the 405 freeway, this new campus will be an extension of Hoag’s services in Newport Beach and its seven Hoag Health Centers throughout Orange County.

Since beginning the lease of the vacated facility in February of this year, plans to update the hospital to deliver 21st century healthcare have been submitted to the California Office of Statewide Planning and Health Development (OSHPD). Hoag expects to have OSHPD approvals by the end of 2009, after which construction can begin to add state-of-the-art technology and expanded operating rooms. In the mean time, infrastructure and cosmetic changes are underway.
