Apply for Auxiliary Membership
The Auxiliary welcomes new members. An application may be obtained from the Auxiliary Office Monday through Friday (9:00 a.m. to noon), by calling 949/764-8264 or by filling out an application online and printing it. The online application is a form-fill pdf. You will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. Adobe Acrobat Reader is free; click here to download this software.
The completed application and two letters of recommendation are to be sent to the Auxiliary Office, c/o Vice President, Membership. Upon their receipt, the applicant is invited for a personal interview. Upon acceptance as an Auxiliary member, one must attend an orientation meeting before beginning work at the hospital.
Nondiscrimination/Placement
The Auxiliary of Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian accepts volunteers on the basis of merit, qualifications and competence. Acceptance as a volunteer is not influenced by race, color, national origin, religion or sex. Placement is based on the needs of the hospital. Every effort will be made to accommodate your schedule and areas of interest.
Tuberculosis (TB) Testing
Any person working on hospital premises must have an annual TB test at their anniversary date. This is a requirement by the Department of Health Services & regulatory agencies.
New Member Orientation
New member orientation will be scheduled each month. Topics discussed:
- Standards and policies of the Auxiliary and hospital
- TB screening test (given by the hospital)
- Dues, uniforms and committee placement
- Required Hospital Information (e.g., safety, infection control, standards & policies)
