The birth of a baby is one of life's most cherished moments. At Hoag Hospital, we provide comprehensive maternity and OB Education resources to help you through all stages of your pregnancy. Below are some of the many services we provide:
Community Education
Free community seminars are available throughout the year on what you need to know before pregnancy. Classes are entitled "Maybe a Baby" and "Maybe a Baby After 35". Babyline - 949/764-BABY (2229)
Hoag Hospital's Babyline, 949/764-BABY (2229), is answered by an OB Education registered nurse with special expertise and knowledge about pregnancy - before, during and after - as well as, baby care and breastfeeding. The Babyline staff serves as a key resource for new and expectant parents for information and resources, support, empathy and understanding. The Babyline is available Monday through Friday from 10 am - 6 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10 am - 12:30 pm.
OB Education Prenatal Prepared Childbirth Classes
Hoag Hospital's OB Education Department is pleased to offer a variety of prenatal childbirth classes. All classes are taught by certified registered nurses. Registration is encouraged by the third month of pregnancy. Classes usually begin during the seventh month of pregnancy and are held at various Hoag Health Center locations throughout Orange County. Breastfeeding Boutique
The Breastfeeding Boutique carries a comprehensive line of products including pump sales and rentals, books, nursing pillows, and many other breastfeeding products. We offer custom bra fittings by appointment. Call the Babyline for more information 949/764- BABY (2229)
International Board Certified lactation Consultants (IBCLC)
Our Registered Nurses are all certified as International Board Certified lactation Consultants (IBCLC) and are available to assist with breastfeeding concerns and challenges at the Breastfeeding Clinic held at the Hoag Conference Center. Your one on one consult with one of our RN's can be made through an appointment by calling our Babyline at 949/764-BABY (2229). Appointments are available Monday through Saturday.
